“What’s the Problem?” Says Singapore Driver Caught Filling RON95 Petrol in Johor

Date:

A Singapore-registered Honda Stepwagon Spada was spotted refuelling RON95 petrol reserved for local motorists at a station in Iskandar Puteri, Johor, on January 26.

The incident, shared widely on Facebook, showed the driver using a vehicle with a Malaysian registration plate to access petrol meant for local residents, seemingly without concern.

In a bold comment, the driver wrote that he did not mind the post going viral on social media.

“Hello, I am the owner of this car. That’s me, so what’s the problem? I am filling up legally and no one said it’s illegal. I will continue until April. Keep sharing, I don’t care,” he stated.

The comment has since been deleted, but netizens had already captured screenshots of his post.

This follows a similar case on January 14, when a Singapore-registered Volkswagen Jetta was fined RM9,000 by the Kulai Magistrate’s Court for refuelling RON95 petrol illegally. The driver had previously tried to conceal the front letters of his number plate with black tape, which had also gone viral online.
