Actor Aedy Ashraf Admits He’s a Product of Poverty, Sparks Sympathy

Date:

Actor Aedy Ashraf, 33, recently drew attention on social media platform Threads after seemingly reflecting on a challenging upbringing.

Aedy, whose full name is Mohammad Addy Ashraf Rosmadi, reacted to a post by another user who described men marrying without financial stability as committing a “crime.”

“The biggest crime a man can commit is being poor and getting married. You’re poor, have children, and then drag your wife and kids into poverty too,” wrote the Threads user.

Moved by the post, Aedy shared it on his own account, admitting that he could relate. “I strongly agree with this. I am one of the products of that ‘crime,’” he wrote.

He did not provide further details about his personal situation, leaving much to speculation.

The post attracted widespread sympathy from netizens, many of whom praised Aedy’s resilience and expressed hope that he would continue to succeed and make his family proud.

Some users also cautioned against generalising the statement, noting that many men work hard to provide for their families. Comments included messages like: “May Aedy become a qawwam man who honours his family. You are strong. Some start with a small motorbike, and now live in a luxurious home. Everyone has their own path in life.”

Aedy has previously revealed that he had to leave school at age 16 to help support his family during difficult times. He described the decision as one of the hardest in his life, but necessary to ensure his family’s survival.
