CCTV Footage Leads to Arrest of Foreign Woman for Stealing RM250 at Banting Self-Service Laundry

Authorities in Kuala Langat have apprehended a foreign woman after she allegedly stole RM250 from a customer’s wallet at a self-service laundry in Bandar Mahkota Banting yesterday.

Kuala Langat District Police Chief, Superintendent Mohd. Akmalrizal Radzi, said the incident came to light following a report lodged around 9.55pm by a 50-year-old local man.

The complainant had left his wallet at the laundry but noticed that the cash inside had decreased from RM500 to RM250 upon returning to the premises.

“Reviewing the CCTV footage revealed a woman allegedly taking the money from the wallet. The video quickly circulated online, and police were able to track down and arrest the suspect,” he said in a statement.

The case is being investigated under Section 380 of the Penal Code.
