Four 13-Year-Olds Arrested for Assaulting Classmate in Kajang Shopping Centre

Date:

Four 13-year-old boys have been detained by police in connection with the assault of a fellow classmate at a shopping centre in Kajang.

Kajang police chief Naazron Abdul Yusof said the arrests were made after the victim lodged a police report at 12.57pm on July 31.

Initial investigations revealed that the incident took place around 11am on July 30, when the complainant and his classmates met at the mall to resolve a disagreement. During the confrontation, two of the boys physically attacked the victim while the other two filmed the assault on their phones. A video of the incident has since gone viral.

The victim sustained minor injuries to his face and received medical treatment at a nearby hospital.

All four suspects were arrested in Kajang at 8.35pm the same day and have been remanded for two days until August 2 to assist in the investigation.

The case is being investigated under Section 323 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing hurt, Section 506 for criminal intimidation, and Section 14 of the Minor Offences Act 1955.

Naazron urged students to follow school rules and avoid behaviour that could negatively impact their futures.
