A 31-year-old mechanic lost his right leg after a car he was repairing suddenly exploded at a workshop in Kampung Air Merbo Dalam, Kelantan, on Friday.
The incident occurred at around 2.30pm, and the victim was rushed to Hospital Tanah Merah for further treatment.
Commander of the Kemahang Fire and Rescue Station, Senior Fire Officer I Mat Nuri Muhamad, said the fire department received a call at 11.03am today. A team of seven personnel, including officers, was immediately dispatched to the scene. Upon arrival, they observed explosion damage on a Perodua Kancil inside the workshop.
“Information obtained from the police confirmed that a man sustained injuries to his right leg and was taken to hospital by members of the public yesterday,” he said.
Mat Nuri added that the situation was monitored and remained under control, and the case has been handed over to the police for further investigation.
