The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) has announced its goal to boost Malaysia’s Corruption Perceptions Index (CPI) score to at least 60 points within the next two to three years.
MACC Chief Commissioner Tan Sri Azam Baki described the target as a major milestone for the country’s anti-corruption efforts. He noted that while Malaysia’s global ranking has improved, the CPI score itself remains the more meaningful measure.
“Last year, Malaysia scored 50 out of 100. This year, we increased our score by two points, reaching 52 out of 100,” he shared during a special media briefing.
