Police are investigating a reported theft involving England football team equipment ahead of the squad’s arrival at their training base in Kansas City, according to confirmation from the Football Association (FA).
The Thomas Tuchel-led side is scheduled to arrive in the Midwest on Saturday afternoon as preparations for the 2026 World Cup enter their final phase, following a warm-weather training camp in Florida.
The FA confirmed that an incident had taken place but declined to provide further details, as the matter is now under police investigation.
Reports indicated that several pairs of football boots and training balls went missing ahead of England’s first training session at Swope Soccer Village.
The Kansas City Police Department in Missouri said it is looking into a possible theft involving equipment taken from team vehicles upon arrival in the city.
In a statement, police confirmed that an investigation is ongoing into missing items reported from the team’s transport vehicles, with no further details released at this stage.
England are set to hold their first training session at Swope Soccer Village on Saturday.
The Three Lions will begin their World Cup campaign against Croatia on Wednesday, before completing their Group L fixtures against Ghana and Panama.
