Three Malaysian influencers have come under fire after posting a video widely condemned as insensitive and dehumanising. Known by their Instagram handles aluk_777, olympiccc_55, and kaijie_666, the trio posted a reel on the evening of August 3rd, showing themselves finishing their fried chicken at a KFC outlet. What happened next shocked viewers across the country.
In the video, the three influencers were seen packing their leftover chicken bones with rice and handing it to a beggar who was sleeping on a five-foot walkway. Shockingly, upon receiving the packet, the beggar still thanked them.
The act, perceived as cruel and mocking, quickly drew backlash online, including criticism from fellow influencers and public figures who called out their behaviour as disgraceful and damaging to the image of content creators in Malaysia.

Malaysian influencer and content creator Jobroseph expressed disappointment, writing:
“Some people are not as lucky as you to have a home, good food, friends to spend time with, and a family to go back to. All of you are really bright kids and I really hope this doesn’t happen again.”

Malaysian singer-songwriter DIOR Daying also weighed in with an emotional response:
“Please don’t do things like this. It’s really upsetting to watch and truly disrespectful. I’ve never said this to anyone before, but this behaviour shows a complete lack of upbringing.”

Another content creator, Tata, added a scathing critique:
“Before doing things, maybe learn how to be a decent human first. Maybe you guys really want to go viral, but there are many ways to do that—like eating each other’s leftover bones. No one gets hurt and you still look stupid. Maybe you’re happy with all the backlash since the video is still up, but I hope you can sleep well at night. Hope you put your influence to better use and find a more positive way to get the right kind of fame.”
UPDATE: One of the influencers involved, Aluk_777, posted a clarification video stating that the entire scene was staged. According to him, they had approached the beggar beforehand and asked him to act along with them. He explained that after the video was filmed, they actually gave the man a proper packet of rice with several pieces of fried chicken—not just bones. Aluk_777 added that they planned to continue doing good deeds to help the homeless and ended the video with an apology.
