A man in Grobogan, Central Java, has drawn widespread attention after reportedly cutting his house into two following the breakdown of his marriage, according to Indonesian news portal Lambe Turah.
The incident took place in Desa Mlowokarangtalun, Pulokulon district, where the couple had been living together. A video uploaded on TikTok by user @.baguse shows the husband using a saw to split a wooden table, with reports indicating that parts of the house were also divided.
The unusual act quickly went viral on social media, prompting public debate over the lengths individuals may go to amid marital disputes.
Village head Wahyu Hudiyono confirmed that the incident occurred yesterday morning. He explained that the separation of property was carried out after the man discovered his wife had allegedly been involved in an extramarital relationship.
“The division was made after his wife entered into a relationship with another man. The husband had forgiven her, but she no longer wished to remain in the marriage,” Wahyu said.
The incident has since sparked conversations online about domestic conflicts and the emotional toll of infidelity, particularly in small communities where such matters often attract intense scrutiny.
