A Special Financial Assistance (Bantuan Khas Kewangan, BKK) of RM500 will be disbursed to civil servants in Grade 15 and below, including contract appointees, on March 13.
In a statement posted on its official Facebook page today, the Public Service Department said the aid is intended to ease the financial burden of civil servants and retirees as they prepare for the upcoming Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebrations. The annual assistance is widely seen as a timely measure to support public sector employees in managing festive expenses.
The department also confirmed that government pensioners, pensioned veterans and non-pensioned veterans will receive RM250 under the same initiative.
According to the statement, the payment will be borne by the department where the officer is serving as of the payment date.
The BKK will be exempted from income tax in line with Subsection 127(3A) of the Income Tax Act 1967, ensuring recipients receive the full amount without deductions.
The special aid was first announced by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim during the tabling of Budget 2026 on October 10 last year, reflecting the government’s continued commitment to supporting the welfare of public servants and former service personnel.
