Seven areas in Peninsular Malaysia have been placed under Level 1 (Alert) status following consecutive days of high temperatures.
The affected locations are Perlis, as well as Kubang Pasu, Padang Terap, Pokok Sena, Sik, Baling and Bandar Baharu in Kedah.
Under the Alert level classification, daily maximum temperatures of between 35°C and 37°C are recorded for at least three consecutive days.
Authorities said the Level 1 status serves as an early warning for residents to remain vigilant, particularly vulnerable groups such as children, the elderly and those with health conditions, as prolonged exposure to heat may pose health risks.
