Sarawak Unveils New Premier’s Office Complex to Mark Historic Milestone

Date:

Sarawak has officially opened its newest landmark, Kompleks Satria Pertiwi, which now serves as the official office of the Sarawak Premier. The symbolic opening ceremony took place on the complex grounds and was attended by Sarawak Governor Tun Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar, coinciding with Premier Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg’s 75th birthday celebration.

Situated opposite the Sarawak State Library (PUSTAKA), the complex comprises three main sections: the Main Office Building, the Premier’s Official Residence, and a Multipurpose Hall. The Main Office houses the Premier’s office and administrative departments, while the residence is used to host dignitaries and small official events. The Multipurpose Hall is designed to accommodate large-scale functions and staff activities.

Architecturally, the white complex features a blend of neoclassical and colonial styles, symbolizing Sarawak’s rich historical heritage and multicultural unity. The Premier’s office had been located at Wisma Bapa Malaysia since 1976 before relocating to this modern, strategically positioned complex.

The ceremony was also attended by Deputy Premiers Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas, Datuk Amar Dr Sim Kui Hian, Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan, State Secretary Datuk Amar Mohamad Abu Bakar Marzuki, as well as other state ministers and department heads. Festivities included a colorful light display, plaque signing, and guided tours of the new administrative complex.
