Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has announced that the Phase 2 payments of the Sumbangan Tunai Rahmah (STR), initially scheduled for April, will be distributed earlier, starting tomorrow.
The move aims to allow recipients to prepare for the upcoming Aidilfitri celebrations next week. Payments will be made in stages.
“Phase 2 payments will be brought forward. Starting 10 March 2026, recipients will receive the funds in their STR accounts,” the Prime Minister said.
The first stage will involve RM1.3 billion allocated to five million STR recipients, ensuring they can enjoy the assistance in time for Aidilfitri.
The announcement was made during the Prime Minister’s meeting with staff of the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN).
Anwar added, “Payments will be disbursed progressively from 10 March onwards, beginning with the first batch of recipients.”
