Four Arrested After Man Found With Eyes Gouged Out In Brutal Revenge Killing

Date:

A gruesome discovery in Baiguo Mountain, Changhua, has led to the arrest of four individuals following the brutal murder of a 33-year-old man. The victim, identified as Tang, was discovered with a severely disfigured face and both eyeballs gouged out, a condition that has shocked local investigators and the surrounding community.

The fatal chain of events reportedly began after Tang met 31-year-old Huang online and allegedly provided him with heroin during their initial encounter. Huang later claimed to his 58-year-old uncle, Zhang, that he had been coerced into consuming unknown substances and forced into sexual acts, leading to a rapid decline in his mental and physical well-being. Enraged by these allegations, Zhang, who possesses a prior criminal record related to drugs, reportedly orchestrated a plan to “teach Tang a lesson”.

In the early hours of 20 March, Zhang and a 49-year-old accomplice named Wu drove from Taichung to abduct the victim, accompanied by Huang and Zhang’s 43-year-old wife. After transporting Tang to a secluded orchard near Baiguoshan in Yuanlin, Zhang and Wu allegedly led the victim away from the vehicle to carry out the assault. While the wife and nephew remained in the car, they reportedly heard the victim’s harrowing screams coming from the darkness of the orchard.

Upon returning to the vehicle, the suspects informed the others that Tang had been accidentally beaten to death during the confrontation. Forensic examinations later revealed that the victim had suffered horrific injuries inflicted by both sharp and blunt objects, resulting in the extreme mutilation of his body. The sheer violence of the act has prompted a high-level investigation by a specially formed task force from the Yuanlin police.

Utilising surveillance footage to track the group’s movements, officers conducted a raid on a residence in Changhua on 21 March, successfully apprehending all four suspects. While Wu attempted a desperate escape through the back of the property, he was quickly intercepted by waiting police. Zhang and Wu have since been remanded without bail as the main suspects, while the wife and nephew were released on bond; an autopsy is now scheduled to confirm the exact cause of death as the murder weapon remains missing.
