KTV Entertainment Centre Attack Linked To Personal Revenge And Business Rivalry, Police Say

Date:

The attack on an entertainment centre in Taman Shamelin, Cheras last Sunday is believed to have stemmed from a personal vendetta involving the nightclub owner and a business rival, according to police.

Kuala Lumpur police have confirmed that 45 individuals, including two school students aged 14, were arrested in a series of operations carried out from Monday until midnight yesterday. The suspects are aged between 14 and 57 years old.

Kuala Lumpur Police Chief Datuk Fadil Marsus said preliminary investigations found that the midday attack was allegedly carried out by several individuals linked to secret societies, who were believed to have been hired by interested parties.

He added that initial findings also suggest the KTV premises owner had engaged the services of gang members to monitor the operations of the establishment. The violence is believed to have escalated due to ongoing disputes, revenge, and business competition between the parties involved.

Authorities are continuing their investigations into the incident and are also tracking down several other individuals believed to be involved in the attack.

Police have assured that further arrests may follow as efforts intensify to identify all those connected to the case.
