Communications Minister Datuk Fahmi Fadzil has extended his condolences to the family of Radio Televisyen Malaysia (RTM) sign language interpreter, the late Mohammad Fadhil Tan Razman Tan, who passed away today.
In a Facebook post, Fahmi said he was informed that the late Mohammad Fadhil, also known as Abby Tan, had been involved in a road accident on March 6.
“May the family of the deceased be granted strength and patience in facing this loss. Condolences also to colleagues at RTM, especially in the News and Current Affairs Division,” he said.
He also prayed that the deceased’s soul be blessed and placed among the righteous, adding the customary Islamic prayer “al-Fatihah.”
Earlier reports stated that Mohammad Fadhil was involved in a motorcycle accident while returning to his mother’s hometown in Ipoh, Perak. He was believed to have been hit by a lorry that fled the scene in an incident that occurred in Simpang Pulai between 9pm and 10pm on March 6.
He was later treated at the Intensive Care Unit of Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital in Ipoh, where he remained under medical care following the accident.
