A fatal road accident claimed the life of a motorcyclist after his bike was struck by a cement lorry at a traffic light junction along Jalan Salim / Jalan Tun Ahmad Zaidi Adruce this morning.
The incident occurred at around 10am, when the victim, an Iban man from Kampung Sentosa, was reportedly on his way home after shopping at a nearby supermarket.
According to early reports, the cement lorry collided with the motorcycle as both vehicles approached the traffic light junction. The impact was severe, causing the motorcycle to be trapped beneath the lorry.
The rider was pronounced dead at the scene due to the severity of the crash. Emergency responders arrived shortly after but were unable to save him.
Family members of the deceased later arrived at the scene and were overcome with grief, with emotional scenes reported as they mourned the sudden loss.
Authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash to determine the cause of the collision.
