Three individuals were arrested after allegedly failing drug screening tests conducted by police during an operation in Bau.
Police carried out the operation at around 8.20pm yesterday at the Bukit Aman Narcotics Office under the Bau district police headquarters, where urine tests were administered to three suspicious individuals.
The results confirmed that all three tested positive for amphetamine and methamphetamine, commonly known as “ice”.
The suspects comprise two middle-aged men and a young woman, aged between 26 and 47, all of whom are local citizens. Preliminary investigations revealed that all three have prior records related to drug offences.
Authorities said the suspects admitted to consuming methamphetamine as recently as two days before their arrest.
The case is being investigated under Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952, and all three have been remanded at the Bau district police lock-up to assist further investigations.
Police have also reminded the public to stay away from drugs, warning that strict legal action will be taken against offenders caught under the law.
