The Perlis Road Transport Department (Jabatan Pengangkutan Jalan Malaysia) has seized a Lamborghini Revuelto valued at around RM2.3 million after it was found to be operating without valid road tax and insurance coverage.
The luxury supercar, a plug-in hybrid model, was stopped during a routine enforcement operation along the Kuala Perlis–Changlun road recently.
According to authorities, the vehicle was detained under the Road Transport Act 1987 following checks that revealed its motor vehicle licence had expired and no insurance policy was in place.
The Lamborghini Revuelto is a high-performance mid-engine hybrid supercar powered by a 6.5-litre naturally aspirated V12 engine combined with three electric motors, producing over 1,000 horsepower and capable of accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in around 2.5 seconds, with a top speed exceeding 350 km/h.
Its annual road tax in Peninsular Malaysia is estimated at nearly RM17,873.
JPJ Perlis said the failure of luxury vehicle owners to renew road tax contributes to significant revenue loss for the government due to the high value of such vehicles.
The department added that this was not an isolated case, with six luxury vehicles already seized in Perlis since the beginning of the year for similar offences.
Officials stressed that driving without valid road tax and insurance is a serious violation that poses risks to other road users.
Authorities have urged all vehicle owners to comply with regulations and avoid enforcement action, noting that public complaints can be submitted through official JPJ channels, including the MyJPJ app.
