A 28-year-old woman safely delivered her second child inside a moving car after going into sudden labour while her family was rushing her to hospital in Ban Bueng District, Chonburi early on April 28, 2026. Both mother and newborn baby girl are reported to be in good condition following the emergency roadside delivery.
The incident occurred at around 5.30am near the Nong Chak traffic light along Highway 344, close to the Nong Chak Police Station. The Ban Bueng Moral Rescue Association received an emergency call reporting that a woman was giving birth inside a vehicle, prompting immediate coordination with rescue volunteers and Ban Bueng Hospital’s medical team.
When help arrived, responders found a white Toyota sedan parked near the police station. Inside the vehicle, the woman was lying on the back seat with her newborn placed between her legs, still attached by the umbilical cord. Rescue personnel quickly assisted by cutting the cord, cleaning the baby and wrapping her before transporting both mother and child for further medical care.
In a statement, a nurse who assisted confirmed that the newborn was a healthy baby girl who cried strongly after birth, indicating stable condition. Medical staff later transported both patients to hospital for post-delivery observation and continued treatment.
The woman’s husband, 30, said his wife had begun experiencing labour pains the day before and was initially taken to Ban Bueng Hospital, but delivery did not progress at the time. After returning home to rest, her condition worsened again, forcing them to rush back to hospital when labour suddenly intensified during the journey.
He added that they managed to call for help and stop the vehicle near a safe location before rescue teams arrived. The couple, who already have one child, expressed relief and joy that both mother and baby survived the unexpected delivery safely.
The driver, a family acquaintance, said the baby was delivered shortly before reaching the Nong Chak intersection. He immediately stopped the car upon hearing the newborn cry and waited for emergency responders to take over the situation.
Following the incident, the vehicle’s registration number has drawn attention from some members of the public, with certain online users linking it to lottery “lucky number” speculation ahead of the upcoming draw on May 2, 2026.
