The Road Transport Department of Malaysia (Jabatan Pengangkutan Jalan Malaysia) has refuted claims circulating on social media platforms, including Threads, regarding the alleged issuance of free vehicle driving licences.
In a statement, the department said it had received complaints about fraudulent advertisements promoting free licence offers, which have been widely shared online. It stressed that such claims are false and not authorised by the agency.
The department warned members of the public not to be easily misled by promotions circulating through suspicious accounts or unofficial platforms, adding that such scams could lead to confusion and financial losses.
It also clarified that there should be no misunderstanding with the MyLesen B2 programme, stating that applications for the initiative have already closed. Successful applicants are contacted directly and instructed to register at designated driving institutes.
Jabatan Pengangkutan Jalan Malaysia further reminded the public that all official announcements are only made through its verified Facebook pages at both headquarters and state levels, and not via unofficial accounts.
Members of the public are advised to verify any information through official channels before believing or sharing it. Complaints and enquiries can be submitted via the official JPJ complaint portal at https://jpj.spab.gov.my/
The department reiterated its commitment to ensuring accurate information delivery and protecting users from online scams and misinformation.
