Rival Teens Kept Fighting, So Parents Organised Boxing Match To Settle Dispute

Date:

A boxing camp owner in Khuan Niang District, Songkhla, invited a reporter to witness an unusual resolution between two teenage boys who had previously been involved in violent clashes, including incidents involving knives in their neighbourhood.

The match was held at the Chang Mahalaap boxing camp in Hat Yai, with both families present and giving their consent to settle the ongoing conflict through a controlled boxing bout. The decision was made after repeated confrontations between the two teens, who were previously known to operate in rival groups and had reportedly chased each other with weapons in public.

According to the parents, tensions between both sides had persisted since November 2025, with disputes escalating repeatedly and showing no signs of resolution. In an effort to prevent further violence, both families agreed to arrange a boxing match under proper supervision to end the hostility.

Before the fight, both teenagers trained and warmed up in front of relatives and friends who gathered at the venue to show support. The bout was conducted under standard boxing rules, consisting of three rounds of three minutes each.

During the match, the fight was closely contested as both sides exchanged punches amid loud encouragement from spectators. However, just before the end of the first round, one fighter landed an elbow strike followed by a punch to the opponent’s face, causing a serious cut and heavy bleeding.

The referee immediately stopped the fight after assessing the injury and declared a winner on safety grounds. Despite the intense start, the match concluded with both sides accepting the outcome.

Following the bout, the boxing camp owner stepped in to mediate reconciliation between both teenagers. The two sides eventually shook hands, agreeing to end their conflict and move forward as friends, marking a peaceful conclusion to a long-running rivalry.
