Date:

Two 19-year-old suspects linked to the brutal killing of a teenage girl who was stabbed 61 times in Kampung Simah, Ketereh, have been further remanded for seven days to assist police investigations.

Magistrate Rais Imran Hamid allowed the extension of the remand order starting today until next Thursday.

The suspects are being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.

Both suspects arrived at the Kota Bharu Court Complex at about 8.50am in police escort, wearing orange remand uniforms.

The case involves the death of 19-year-old Nurfisya Zulkifly, who was found dead on May 1 in Kampung Simah, Ketereh.

Police investigations revealed that the victim sustained 61 stab wounds across her body, from the face down to the legs, with injuries mostly concentrated on the right side.

Kelantan police chief Mohd Yusoff Mamat previously confirmed that forensic examinations showed the severity of the multiple stab wounds.

Earlier, four individuals, including an elderly married couple, were also detained to assist investigations into the case.

The magistrate had initially granted a seven-day remand for the two teenagers starting last Saturday, which expired today before being extended.

Meanwhile, the elderly couple, aged 66 and 60, were previously remanded for three days but have since been released on police bail.
