A dramatic road accident in Canada has gone viral after a motorcycle was seen dangling from a traffic light following a high-speed collision involving a car and a motorbike at a busy intersection.
Police were called to the scene on Saturday after reports of a crash between a motorcycle and a vehicle. When officers arrived, they found debris scattered across the road, with the motorcycle mysteriously lodged high above the street.
The bike had reportedly been launched into the air after colliding with the front of a silver BMW, leaving the car’s bonnet severely damaged.
In a bizarre turn of events, the motorcycle ended up hooked onto a traffic signal, hanging suspended above ground level, creating a scene witnesses described as surreal.
Local resident William Chan told CBC News the sight was like something out of a film, saying he initially noticed the damaged car before looking up and spotting the motorcycle overhead.
“I was looking down and then I look up and the motorcycle was above – kind of crazy,” he said.
Another witness, Jevon Ryan, expressed disbelief at how the bike ended up in such a position, describing the physics of the crash as “wow”.
Emergency services later worked carefully to bring the motorcycle down from the traffic light structure.
The rider was rushed to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries, while the driver of the car escaped unharmed.
Images of the unusual crash have since spread widely online, with social media users commenting on the extraordinary nature of the incident and the unlikely positioning of the motorcycle.
