The second phase of the Donald Trump administration’s UFO disclosure programme is reportedly underway, with officials saying another batch of classified files could be released “very soon”.
Chief Pentagon spokesperson Sean Parnell announced on Monday that the materials are currently being processed for public release.
The latest disclosure follows the first major release on May 8, which included previously unseen photos, videos and government documents linked to unidentified anomalous phenomena (UAPs), commonly referred to as UFOs.
Several lawmakers have since hinted that the initial release was only a small portion of what remains hidden from the public.
Tim Burchett, a vocal advocate for UFO transparency, claimed the first disclosure was merely “a drop in the bucket” compared to what could be released next.
“I would say ‘Holy Crap’ is coming,” Burchett said following the earlier release.
Speculation intensified further after Trump posted an AI-generated image on Truth Social showing himself standing beside a handcuffed alien at what appeared to be a US military base.
The surreal image quickly sparked widespread discussion online as interest surrounding UFO disclosures continues to grow.
Social media users reacted strongly to news of the second release, with some joking that the government was processing UFO files faster than computer software updates, while others accused officials of dragging out the disclosure process without delivering concrete information.
Burchett also alleged that certain government agencies were intentionally slowing the release of information despite Trump’s promises to declassify the files.
“The Deep State’s fighting a president on release,” he claimed during an interview with Morell Media.
The first batch of declassified materials reportedly included images and transcripts linked to Apollo 12 and Apollo 17 missions, including a photograph showing unexplained objects above the lunar surface.
Other materials included FBI images from 1999 allegedly showing unidentified objects near military aircraft, as well as military pilot footage capturing strange fast-moving objects in restricted airspace.
One of the most talked-about videos featured an eerie glowing object described as resembling an “eight-pointed star” moving across the sky in infrared military footage recorded in 2013.
Interest in the disclosures has also grown after Anna Paulina Luna, chair of the House Oversight Task Force on Declassification, previously revealed that dozens of military UFO videos remain classified.
Luna had earlier requested the release of 46 classified UAP videos allegedly recorded near military bases, conflict zones and restricted airspace.
Although the Pentagon missed its original April deadline to release the files, officials later blamed the delay on what they described as administrative and clerical issues.
Authorities have yet to confirm whether the upcoming second phase will include additional military footage, radar evidence, pilot testimonies or classified intelligence assessments linked to alleged extraterrestrial activity.
