Form Six Programme Officially Moving Under Higher Education Ministry

Date:

Fadhlina Sidek says she remains committed to supporting Form Six students despite the pre-university programme being transferred under the supervision of the Ministry of Higher Education Malaysia (MOHE).

The Education Minister said the restructuring decision was made following a resolution that all pre-university programmes in Malaysia would now be managed by MOHE.

In an emotional Facebook post, Fadhlina admitted that her recent speech to Form Six students could possibly be her last official engagement with them before the transition takes place.

“Perhaps this is my final speech with the Form Six students. After this, they will be handed over to the new ministry under MOHE,” she wrote.

She added that she would deeply miss the students, describing them as highly committed individuals who consistently upheld the aspirations of Malaysia’s national education system.

Fadhlina highlighted several initiatives introduced during her tenure to strengthen the Form Six ecosystem and empower students nationwide.

Among the efforts implemented was the creation of the National Form Six Student Representative Committee, where students were allowed to elect their own leaders through a democratic process.

She also pointed to collaborations between Form Six programmes and major public universities, including Universiti Sains Malaysia and Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia.

According to Fadhlina, the Education Ministry had additionally expanded the establishment of dedicated Form Six Colleges while continuing to provide Early Schooling Aid to students enrolled in the programme.

She revealed that an annual allocation of RM50,000 had also been channelled to support activities and operations under the National Form Six Student Representative Committee.

Meanwhile, the minister congratulated organisers of the Penang State-Level Pre-University Congress and expressed hope that students would continue playing an active role in strengthening and elevating the country’s education system moving forward.
