Luxury KL Hotel Wild Party Busted, 51 Men Arrested In Drug Raid

Date:

A shocking wild party allegedly involving drugs and same-sex activities at a luxury hotel in the capital was busted after police arrested 51 men during a pre-dawn raid on Saturday.

The operation, carried out by Bukit Aman’s Narcotics Criminal Investigation Department together with Kuala Lumpur police and Brickfields district narcotics officers, took place between 2.35am and 5am.

According to Bukit Aman NCID director Hussien Omar Khan, those detained comprised 23 local men and 28 foreign nationals aged between 21 and 52.

Police also seized a large quantity of party drugs worth more than RM103,000 during the raid. Among the drugs confiscated were 1.15kg of MDMA liquid, 284g of MDMA powder, ecstasy pills, ecstasy powder and ketamine.

The case took a darker turn when police discovered a man believed to have attended the party being carried unconscious out of the hotel lobby before the raid began.

“He was rushed to Kuala Lumpur Hospital but was pronounced dead upon arrival,” Hussien revealed in a statement on Monday.

Investigations found the hotel room was allegedly being used as a private entertainment hub where guests consumed drugs and engaged in immoral activities. Authorities believe the gathering had been actively organised before police moved in.

Initial urine screening tests showed 36 individuals tested positive for drugs, while the remaining 15 tested negative.

Police are investigating the case under several provisions of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952, including Sections 39B, 39A(1), 12(2), and 15(1)(a). All suspects have been remanded between three and six days to assist investigations.

Checks also uncovered that one suspect had a previous drug-related criminal record.

Hussien said the successful raid was the result of continuous intelligence work by the NCID to crack down on drug abuse and trafficking activities nationwide.

“Police will not compromise with anyone involved in drug-related activities as it is a serious offence under the law,” he stressed.

He also urged members of the public with information on drug-related crimes to contact the NCID Hotline at 012-208 7222.
