Residents of a village in Indonesia were left horrified after the body of a young girl was discovered abandoned by the roadside alongside an emotional handwritten note believed to be from her parents.
The heartbreaking discovery was made in Desa Rangai Tritunggal when a man heading to a mosque for dawn prayers stumbled upon a white cloth bundle lying near the road.
Inside the bundle was the body of a girl believed to be between 11 and 13 years old.
A note found beside the body claimed the child had died due to diabetes and that her family could not afford funeral expenses.
“Peace be upon you. To whoever finds the body of our child who died from diabetes.
“We, as her parents, are unable to bury her because of financial difficulties,” the message read, according to local outlet Kumparan News.
Katibung police chief Dita Hidayatullah said the victim’s identity has yet to be confirmed.

Police also discovered medication, medical supplies and massage oil near the scene, suggesting the child had been receiving long-term treatment before her death.
Authorities believe the girl had been bedridden for a prolonged period, with severe wounds reportedly found around her waist area.
Investigators suspect the parents had exhausted their finances caring for the sick child and were left unable to manage burial arrangements.
The tragic incident sparked sympathy among villagers, with local residents and authorities eventually stepping in to help handle the funeral process and ensure the child received a proper burial.
The case has also reignited discussions online about poverty, healthcare struggles and the hardships faced by families caring for chronically ill children in remote communities.
