‘UFO’ Spotted In Madura Turns Out To Be Movie Promotion, Sparks Online Frenzy

Date:

A viral video showing an object resembling a flying saucer stranded in Madura has sent social media users into a frenzy, according to Indonesian news portal detiknet.

The mysterious sighting quickly sparked wild speculation online, with many netizens questioning whether it was an actual unidentified flying object (UFO).

Clips circulating across TikTok, Instagram and X showed a large metallic white object partially buried in the ground, creating a chaotic scene as crowds gathered around the area.

People at the location could be seen recording videos and taking photos of the unusual object using their mobile phones, while online discussions continued to grow rapidly. The strange “crash site” even triggered theories involving aliens and extraterrestrial life.

However, as the story gained traction, internet users eventually uncovered the real truth behind the so-called UFO discovery.

A social media user identified as @BudhiSulistyo1 revealed that the viral footage was actually part of a promotional campaign for a comedy film directed by well-known filmmaker, Bayu Skak.

The movie reportedly features a quirky storyline about a UFO making an emergency landing in Madura, cleverly blurring the line between fiction and reality to attract public attention.

The creative marketing stunt has since drawn mixed reactions online, with some praising the campaign’s originality while others admitted they were genuinely convinced the UFO sighting was real.
