Members of the public are being warned not to casually touch or pick up mysterious cash found tucked under their car windscreen wipers, amid fears it could be part of a criminal trap.
A social media user recently shared a 1-minute-and-38-second video online advising motorists to remain cautious if they discover unidentified money placed on their vehicle windscreen.
According to the man in the viral clip, criminals are constantly coming up with new tactics and the suspicious cash could potentially be linked to robbery, scam or kidnapping attempts.
He warned that if such money is discovered, people should avoid handling it recklessly and instead take extra precautions.
The man demonstrated that anyone attempting to remove the cash should first wear gloves and a face mask to avoid direct contact or inhaling any unknown substances that may have been intentionally placed on the money.
After removing the cash, he advised placing it immediately into a plastic bag instead of keeping it loosely.
The video quickly attracted widespread attention online, with many netizens expressing concern over the possibility of dangerous substances being used in crimes.
Others said they had never heard of such tactics before and urged motorists to remain alert, especially when returning to vehicles parked in isolated areas.
The man also advised the public to immediately lodge a police report if they encounter suspicious situations involving unexplained cash left on vehicles.
As the clip continues circulating online, many social media users have reminded one another not to let curiosity override personal safety.
The warning comes amid growing public concern over increasingly creative criminal tactics targeting unsuspecting victims in public places.
