Three Men Arrested Over Suspected Trespass At Tudan Phase 3 Home

Police have arrested three local men aged between 21 and 31 in connection with a suspected trespass incident at a residential property in Tudan Phase 3, Miri.

Miri district police chief ACP Mohd Farhan Lee Abdullah said the case was reported on Sunday night after the homeowner allegedly discovered the trio inside his house compound at around 9.30pm.

According to the report, the homeowner confronted the suspects and shouted at them, prompting all three to flee the scene.

However, the suspects are believed to have left behind three sling bags containing identity cards, along with two bicycles, which were later seized by police as case exhibits.

Acting on information gathered, officers from the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of the Miri District Police Headquarters managed to track down and arrest all three men in Kampung Tudan.

Police said the suspects are currently being remanded until May 30 to assist investigations under Section 447 of the Penal Code for criminal trespass, read together with Section 117 of the Criminal Procedure Code.

If convicted, they face imprisonment of up to six months, a fine of up to RM3,000, or both.

Authorities have also thanked members of the public for providing timely information that assisted in the arrests, and reminded residents to remain vigilant and continue cooperating with police to help curb crime in the area.
