Motorcyclist Killed In Three-Vehicle Crash At Kuching Traffic Light Junction

Date:

A motorcyclist was killed in a road accident involving three vehicles at a traffic light junction along Jalan Diplomatik, early this morning.

Kuching district police chief ACP Alexson Naga Chabu said authorities received information on the incident at about 7.10am.

Preliminary investigations found that the crash occurred around 7am when the 34-year-old victim, who was heading towards Jalan Demak, is believed to have lost control of his motorcycle before colliding with the rear of a vehicle stopped at a red light.

The impact caused the vehicle to be pushed forward, where it then struck another car waiting ahead at the same junction.

The motorcyclist was confirmed dead at the scene by paramedics from Sarawak General Hospital, while the drivers of both vehicles involved escaped without injuries.

The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
