CCTV Leads To Arrest Of Two Teens In Brutal Knife Attack Case

Date:

Two teenagers have been arrested in connection with the stabbing of a 15-year-old vocational student in Bangkok’s Bueng Kum district, with police relying on CCTV footage to track down the suspects.

Metropolitan Police Bureau commander Police Lieutenant General Siam Boonsom led the arrest operation on May 30, detaining two suspects aged 14 and 15, identified only as “A” and “B”. Authorities also recovered a motorcycle and a knife believed to have been used in the attack.

In a broader public safety context, the case has once again highlighted concerns over youth violence and rising street altercations involving school-age teenagers in urban areas.

Police said the incident took place at about 6.55pm the previous day when the victim, identified as “C”, was travelling with three friends on a motorcycle into Soi Nawamin 161 after school.

The group was reportedly pursued by the two suspects, who forced them to stop before the attack unfolded.

Investigators found that suspect “A” was riding the motorcycle, while suspect “B” dismounted and stabbed the victim in the abdomen before both fled the scene.

Both suspects were later arrested and taken to Khok Kram Police Station for questioning, where they reportedly confessed to the assault.

They told police the attack stemmed from a road dispute and verbal confrontation between the parties.

The two now face assault charges and have been handed over to investigators for further legal proceedings, according to local media reports.

In a separate incident, an 18-year-old vocational student is also reported to be in critical condition after being stabbed twice in Bang Bua Thong, Nonthaburi, in a related case involving teenage violence.

Authorities said witnesses saw a group of teenagers arriving on two motorcycles before a confrontation escalated into a stabbing attack, with police reviewing CCTV footage to identify additional suspects.
