A car repair shop owner who claims to have won the lottery five consecutive times has returned to a temple in Thailand to fulfil a vow, bringing 100,000 baht in cash and 100,000 firecrackers as an offering after his latest win.
The 45-year-old mechanic, known as Mr. Keng, visited Wat Huai Sub in Chonburi Province on Monday alongside nearly 20 villagers who also struck lottery prizes and wanted to pay tribute to a revered Buddha image known locally as Luang Pho Yai.

The temple was packed with devotees who gathered to offer thanks after winning prizes from the latest lottery draw, particularly the winning numbers 95 and 938.
According to Mr. Keng, he had previously prayed at the temple for good fortune and success in his business. He vowed to make a substantial donation if his luck continued and his work opportunities improved.
The mechanic said his latest winning numbers came from an unexpected source.
He claimed he noticed the number “65” written on the arm of a monk who had given him alms. Believing it could be a lucky sign, he reversed the digits and purchased lottery tickets featuring both 65 and 95.
The strategy paid off, with the number 95 emerging as a winning combination and extending his streak to five consecutive successful draws.
“After winning again, I came back to fulfil the promise I made,” he said.
Several other villagers also reported winning lottery prizes, with some holding multiple winning tickets. Many travelled to the temple carrying offerings as part of their vows and expressions of gratitude.
Following the donation ceremony, temple-goers set off 100,000 firecrackers in a celebratory display.
As is common among lottery enthusiasts, attention quickly turned to the remnants left behind after the firecrackers exploded.
Villagers gathered around the debris and claimed to spot the numbers “773” and “29” among the remains.
The numbers were eagerly noted down by hopeful gamblers, many of whom plan to use them when purchasing tickets for Thailand’s next lottery draw on June 16.
The unusual story has attracted widespread attention online, with many fascinated by the mechanic’s remarkable run of lottery success and the rituals surrounding his temple visit.
