Police have arrested a truck driver in connection with the death of a 32-year-old man whose body was found near an alley beside a hotel on Jalan Horley yesterday.
District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Abang Zainal Abidin Abang Ahmad, said the suspect was detained at the Terminal Bersepadu Selatan (TBS) in Kuala Lumpur.
“During the arrest, police also seized two mobile phones believed to be linked to the case,” he said.
Early this morning, the suspect led officers to a security guard post in the Taman Tawas Idaman Square residential area, where two sets of keys and a white truck suspected to have been used in the crime were recovered, he added.
“A remand application has been filed today to facilitate further investigation,” he said, noting that the case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.
According to reports, the unidentified victim, fully clothed and unconscious, was discovered by a hotel worker around 6 a.m. CCTV footage from the area showed the man being chased by a covered white truck at 4:24 a.m. The video appears to capture a struggle between the victim and the suspect, after which the man fell in front of the vehicle, was struck, and left at the scene.
