Sibu Police Inspector Found Dead At Home, Sudden Death Case Classified

A 45-year-old police inspector was found dead in the main bedroom of his residence in Sibu on Thursday evening.

Sibu District Police Chief ACP Azari Miskon said the incident was discovered at about 6.50pm by the victim’s wife, who immediately alerted the Sungai Merah Police Station.

Initial inspections at the scene found no visible injuries or signs of struggle, police confirmed.

Authorities also revealed that the deceased was believed to have been suffering from depression since January.

He was reportedly undergoing treatment at both private clinics and government hospitals, with his last appointment with a psychiatrist recorded on May 20.

The body was sent to Sibu Hospital for post-mortem examination, while the case has been classified as sudden death.
