The General Operations Force (PGA) has seized 13 compressed blocks of cannabis weighing approximately 11 kilograms, with an estimated value of RM33,000, during an operation at an oil palm plantation in Kampung Baru, Lubok Stol, Pasir Mas.
The seizure was made by Battalion 8 PGA together with intelligence personnel from the Eastern Brigade under Op Taring Wawasan Kelantan, following intelligence information received prior to the operation conducted at 4.30pm yesterday.
Eastern Brigade PGA Commander Senior Assistant Commissioner Ahmad Radzi Hussain said officers had carried out surveillance at the location from early morning before observing no suspicious movement after nearly 10 hours of monitoring.
He said further inspection of the plantation area led to the discovery of the drugs, which are believed to have been left behind for collection by other parties involved in smuggling activities.
The case is being investigated under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952, while authorities stressed that patrols and monitoring along border areas will continue to be intensified to curb smuggling activities.
