Man Found Dead At HTAA, Police Investigation Underway

Date:

A man who was found dead outside the main lobby of Hospital Tengku Ampuan Afzan (HTAA) on Saturday has been confirmed not to be a patient or employee of the hospital.

In a statement, the Pahang Health Department (JKNP) said the adult male was discovered unconscious at about 10am.

A medical team from the hospital’s Emergency and Trauma Department was dispatched to the scene and later confirmed the man’s death after conducting an examination.

JKNP said the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) was immediately notified and investigating officers arrived at the location to carry out further inquiries.

Following preliminary examinations and documentation procedures, the body was transferred to the HTAA Forensic Department for further action.

The department said it would provide full cooperation to police and would also conduct an internal review regarding the incident.

Members of the public have been urged not to speculate on the case as investigations are still ongoing.

JKNP also extended its condolences to the deceased’s family and relatives, while requesting that their privacy be respected throughout the investigation process.

Earlier, a photograph showing the hospital’s main lobby cordoned off with police tape went viral on social media, accompanied by claims that the victim had fallen from the building.

Authorities have yet to confirm the circumstances surrounding the man’s death.
