No Evidence Of MyKad In Viral Clip, Police Confirm

Date:

Police have confirmed that no identification documents or MyKad were shown in a viral video circulating on social media which allegedly claimed that a Myanmar national possessed a Malaysian blue identity card.

Putrajaya district police chief ACP Aidi Sham Mohamed said checks found that the video did not contain any evidence to support the claims being made online.

He said police received a report at 8.45am on June 5 regarding false information circulating about the issuance of an identity card to an individual alleged to be a Myanmar citizen.

Preliminary investigations found that the video, uploaded on Facebook via the account ‘Na’am Ahmad’, questioned how a person allegedly from Myanmar could possess a blue MyKad.

Police also determined that the footage had been reshared by a third party, rather than being an original recording.

Following the report, the matter has been referred to the National Registration Department (JPN) for verification and further investigation.

Authorities reminded the public not to spread unverified or false information, warning that such actions could cause confusion and damage reputations.

Police also advised the public to rely only on official sources and to report any related information directly to authorities for proper investigation.
