Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim has reaffirmed the government’s commitment to strengthening the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) as a credible and respected institution in the ongoing fight against corruption.
Anwar said efforts to enhance governance, integrity and institutional reform remain key priorities in building a more transparent, just and competitive Malaysia.
The Prime Minister made the remarks during a courtesy visit by MACC Chief Commissioner Abdul Halim Aman in Putrajaya on Friday.
According to Anwar, integrity should not be viewed merely as a requirement within the public service, but as a fundamental pillar in ensuring public confidence, attracting high-quality investments and securing the nation’s long-term future.
“Integrity is not only a demand within the public sector but an essential foundation for maintaining the trust of the people, attracting quality investments and shaping a more sustainable future for the country,” he said in a Facebook post.
He stressed that the government remains committed to empowering the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission and ensuring it continues to function as a respected institution capable of carrying out its responsibilities effectively.
Anwar also reiterated that the fight against corruption would be pursued without compromise, underscoring the government’s determination to strengthen accountability and transparency across all sectors.
Institutional reform and anti-corruption measures have remained central to the government’s broader agenda, with authorities continuing efforts to improve governance standards and reinforce public confidence in national institutions.
“The government will continue to strengthen the MACC as a credible and respected institution in combating corruption without compromise to ensure the nation’s prosperity can be enjoyed by both present and future generations,” he said.
