The Pasukan Polis Marin (PPM) successfully busted a diesel smuggling activity in a raid conducted at Hulu Jabor yesterday.
PPM Region Three commander ACP Mohd Khairuddin Jamal said the 11am operation also led to the seizure of 5,150 litres of diesel, valued at an estimated RM51,580.50.
He said the raid was carried out following public complaints regarding the illegal storage and handling of diesel at the premises.
“During the inspection, we found a skid tank, nozzle pump and a large quantity of diesel stored without a valid permit,” he said.
A 55-year-old man was also detained to assist investigations after failing to produce any valid documentation related to the fuel storage.
According to him, all seized items have been handed over to the Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Ministry (KPDN) for further action.
The case is being investigated under Section 21 of the Supply Control Act 1961.
