11-Year-Old Boy Dies After Falling From Seventh Floor Of Apartment Building

Date:

A heartbreaking tragedy unfolded in Kajang when an 11-year-old boy lost his life after falling from the seventh floor of an apartment block in the early hours of Monday morning.

The incident took place at Block AB of Sri Lavender Apartment, located in Taman Sepakat Indah 2. Authorities were alerted after an emergency call was made through the MERS 999 hotline at approximately 7.12am.

Kajang District Police Chief Assistant Commissioner Naazron Abdul Yusof said medical personnel rushed to the scene and conducted an examination before confirming that the child had died at the location.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the victim had fallen from the high-rise residential unit. Police have initially classified the case as a sudden death report.

However, investigators are also examining possible elements of negligence. As a result, the case is being investigated under Section 31(1)(a) of the Child Act 2001, which relates to child neglect and endangerment.

The tragic incident has once again highlighted concerns surrounding child safety in high-rise residential areas. Safety experts have repeatedly stressed the importance of installing protective barriers and ensuring children are constantly supervised, especially in homes located on upper floors.

Naazron urged parents and guardians to remain vigilant at all times and closely monitor their children’s movements to prevent similar incidents from occurring.
