A routine military training exercise ended in tragedy when two soldiers were killed following an explosion at the Hobart Camp shooting range in Kedah on Tuesday.
The victims, a male and a female soldier, were reportedly critically injured in the blast and later died while being transported to Sultan Abdul Halim Hospital for emergency treatment.
The incident is believed to have occurred during a training session at the army facility, sending shockwaves through the military community.
Kuala Muda police chief Hanyan Ramlan confirmed the incident, stating that authorities received information regarding the explosion at approximately 12.30pm.
Details surrounding the cause of the blast have yet to be disclosed, and investigations are expected to be launched to determine what triggered the fatal incident.
The identities of the two soldiers have not yet been released pending notification of their next of kin.
