Selangor police have confirmed the arrest of 300 Myanmar nationals over a 17-month period from January 2025 to May 2026.
Selangor Police Chief, Shazeli Kahar, said 227 arrests were recorded throughout last year, while a further 73 arrests were made during the first five months of this year.
He clarified that the figures do not solely involve members of the Rohingya community, but also include enforcement actions taken against other Myanmar nationals.
“All arrests carried out involved various categories of offences, including immigration-related violations and other offences,” he said in a statement issued on Tuesday night.
Shazeli added that Selangor police remain committed to providing the public with clear and accurate information, while also appreciating the cooperation and information shared by members of the community, particularly those in Selangor.
