Man Suffers 70% Burns After Scaffolding Rope Contacts Live Wire

Date:

A worker has suffered severe injuries after being electrocuted while carrying out exterior painting works on a building in Bangkok, Thailand.

The incident occurred when a suspended scaffolding rope used by the victim reportedly came into contact with a high-voltage power cable, triggering a powerful electric shock that caused him to fall.

Footage circulating on social media showed the worker dangling in the air as he attempted to regain control after the initial shock.

However, he was believed to have suffered a second electric shock while still suspended, leaving him motionless mid-air.

Reports said the hanging rope may have shifted unexpectedly before striking the nearby high-voltage line, leading to the dangerous accident at the worksite.

Rescue teams who arrived at the scene found the victim still conscious and able to communicate despite his serious injuries.

Initial checks indicated that he had suffered burns covering around 70 per cent of his body due to the electric shock.

Emergency responders and paramedics provided immediate treatment on-site, including injury assessment and stabilisation efforts before transporting him to Ramathibodi Hospital for further treatment.

Authorities are currently investigating the incident to determine whether negligence or safety procedure violations contributed to the accident.
