A fifth-floor apartment in Taman Pinggiran Putra here was badly damaged in a fire that destroyed about 80 per cent of the unit in a midday blaze today.
No casualties or injuries were reported in the incident, which occurred at around 12.12pm.
Selangor Fire and Rescue Department Operations Assistant Director Ashrul Riezal Asbar said emergency teams received an alert at 12.12pm and rushed to the scene.
He said the fire had already spread significantly, destroying most of the unit before being brought under control at 12.37pm.
“About 80 per cent of the house structure was destroyed before the fire was successfully controlled,” he said.
He added that the full extinguishing operation ended at 2.05pm after firefighters confirmed there were no remaining fire sources.
A total of 15 firefighters from the Seri Kembangan and Cyberjaya fire stations were deployed, supported by two fire engines, an Emergency Medical Rescue Services unit, and a water tanker.
