Drug-Positive SUV Driver Crashes Into Four Vehicles In Klang

A Proton X70 SUV driver who drove against traffic and crashed into four other vehicles along Jalan Sepadu off Jalan Rantau Panjang on Friday has tested positive for drugs.

Klang Utara District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Ramsay Embol, said the incident occurred at about 11.30am.

He said preliminary investigations found that the driver, believed to be in his 30s, had entered the opposite lane before colliding with several vehicles parked on the left side of the road, including a food truck operating at the location.

No injuries were reported in the incident, he added.

Police said all involved parties have lodged reports, except for a motorcyclist who left the scene immediately after the crash.

Urine screening on the SUV driver later returned positive for drugs, and the case is being investigated under Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.

The case is also being probed under Section 42(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for reckless and dangerous driving.

Police have urged witnesses or members of the public with information on the incident to come forward to assist investigations.
