Parti Wawasan Negara (Wawasan) has stated that it will continue to support any leader seen as capable of uniting the people and driving better development ahead of the Johor state election.
Its president, Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainudin, said the stance reflects the party’s commitment to strengthening national unity without being overly bound by political bloc divisions.
He said the party prioritises leaders who demonstrate the ability to bring communities together and contribute meaningfully to Johor’s progress.
Hamzah added that there is nothing wrong with supporting such leaders if it helps ensure victory for candidates who can deliver positive change in the state election.
He stressed that leadership assessment should be based on capability and performance rather than political alignment alone.
He also said Wawasan is ready to assist and campaign for parties and candidates deemed suitable throughout the Johor election period.
Meanwhile, it was reported earlier that the Johor state election will see a highly competitive race involving 175 candidates from various political parties and independents contesting 56 seats.
The Election Commission (EC) had previously announced that 2,727,926 voters are eligible to cast their ballots based on the updated electoral roll as of May 31.
