PH Candidate Unfazed Facing Onn Hafiz In Machap State Contest

Date:

Pakatan Harapan (PH) candidate for the Machap state seat, Nur Hafiz Roslan, has expressed confidence ahead of a direct electoral showdown against Johor Barisan Nasional chairman and incumbent assemblyman Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi in the upcoming Johor state election.

Nur Hafiz, 41, who serves as an Amanah Youth executive committee member, said the contest represents a clear battle between two major coalitions, with both sides seeking voter support in Machap.

He said he was not intimidated by the challenge, stressing that PH believes it can offer better solutions and improvements for the constituency.

According to him, a review of local issues has shown areas that require attention, and he believes reforms and enhancements can be implemented effectively in Machap if given the mandate.

Nur Hafiz also said he would soon unveil his election manifesto, outlining both coalition-wide pledges and specific proposals tailored for residents in the area.

He added that he intends to serve the constituency with full commitment if given the opportunity by voters.

The Election Commission has confirmed a straight fight between Nur Hafiz and Onn Hafiz for the Machap seat, setting up a high-profile contest in the state election.

In the previous state election in 2022, Onn Hafiz secured the seat with a 6,543-vote majority, defeating candidates from Perikatan Nasional, Muda and Pejuang, while polling for the current election is scheduled for July 11, with early voting on July 7.
