Barisan Nasional (BN) Johor has described its manifesto for the Johor state election, announced recently, as a continuation of the six core pillars under the ‘Maju Johor’ agenda introduced in 2022.
Johor Menteri Besar and BN state chairman Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi said the manifesto builds on ongoing initiatives over the past four years, particularly in housing development, youth empowerment, and the Bantuan Kasih Johor programme.
He stressed that BN is transparent in presenting its plans to the people and what it intends to deliver if given a mandate, unlike other parties which, he claimed, struggle to outline concrete plans and instead rely on “sweet promises”.
Onn Hafiz said announcing a manifesto is easier than implementing it, adding that true leadership is reflected in whether promises are carried out sincerely and effectively.
He made the remarks during a meet-and-greet session with residents at Pangsapuri Bukit Saujana, where he also highlighted BN’s commitment to maintaining harmony throughout the election campaign.
The Menteri Besar said BN would continue engaging with voters actively, acknowledging that the coalition sees itself as the underdog in the current political contest in Johor.
He added that BN will focus on reaching out to as many residents as possible and strengthening grassroots support across the state.
Onn Hafiz also urged rival coalitions, particularly Pakatan Harapan (PH), to first fulfil previous commitments to Johor before making new promises, citing delayed projects such as the Elevated Autonomous Rapid Transit (E-ART), Hospital Sultanah Aminah 2, and improvements at Hospital Pasir Gudang.
